If you’re looking to improve your tasselling skills beyond the ‘jump up & down quickly’ or ‘shimmy furiously’ techniques then come along to a special one-off workshop by tassel twirling pro, Trixi Tassels! You will learn all methods of how to get controlled twirls, including the bounce, shoulder and ribcage techniques, single and double twirls, synced and alternating twirls. These methods give you total control over the direction and syncronisation of your twirls and the main techniques use only the upper body so you are free to move around the stage gracefully. It is guaranteed that by the end everyone will be twirling!

Also included in the workshop is a a hands-on craft section on pastie making. You will learn how to create different shapes, how to decorate them and where to source specialist components like the tassels themselves and Swarovski crystals. All materials will be supplied.

You DON’T need ‘perfect’ breasts to do this course - Trixi has taught dozens of women to twirl and no two have had the same pair of breasts. Big, small, floppy, pert - with a bit of technique and practice anyone can do it!

Trixi taught this course (minus the craft section) as a master teacher at the Paris Burlesque Festival 2011 where it was well received and everyone went away happily twirling!

I had the pleasure meeting Peekaboo Pointe in Perth when she was on tour with the Australian Burlesque Festival last year. Here is a video showing off her tassel twirling skills. I love the massive backbend she does - I need to work on my flexibility in that area!

I am very excited to announce that I am one of the headliners of the Paris Burlesque Festival this year!  I am performing in the Friday and Saturday night showcases with my acts ‘Appreciation’ and ‘Balloonacy’ as well as teaching a tassel-twirling masterclass on Saturday.  

I have purchased some beautiful new balloons for my Balloonacy act including one that is blue with white polka dots! Can’t wait to blow them up and toss them around.

Now off to do some tasselling practice…

Miss Indigo Blue has been named The Reigning Queen of Burlesque at the 2011 International Hall Of Fame weekend.

Indigo is one of the performers I first stumbled across when I was researching tassel twirling and is definitely one of the world’s best!

She is very good technically at twirling and has a clip on YouTube (below) where she showcases her skills.  It is one of the clips I sought inspiration from when choreographing the twirling section of my Ann-Margaret act.

Like me, she uses her shoulders for her single-sided twirl and double-outward-alternating, but I’m still the one person I know who can get my tassels to twirl in the same direction by using only my ribcage!
